Jamie Delgado MA, LPC, NCC, PMH-C
In 2006, Jamie earned a Bachelor of Science in Applied Learning and Development from the University of Texas at Austin with a minor in Early Childhood Studies. Jamie spent over a decade working for the public school system, mostly in middle school. During her time as a teacher, she noticed that some of her students struggled to learn due to what she called an emotional void. It was important for her to find a way to reach these students. The experience inspired her to pursue a Masters degree in Professional Counseling at Texas State University. During this time, Jamie learned trauma is the term used to describe this emotional void and how it affects children’s ability to learn. Due to her interest in trauma, Jamie has become trained in EMDR, IFS, and ART.
Jamie serves individuals of all ages and identities. She’s compassionate, welcoming, safe and patient. She believes the client knows their life experiences better than anyone else. She is not here to “fix” the client or tell them what to do. As a therapist, she assists the client in finding meaning and purpose, unburdening the past, resolving unresolved trauma, finding their authentic self, and reaching their personal goals. She is here to help the client find their voice and choose how they are going to live their life story. She is their hope merchant and believes healing is possible.
